If you want to step into the world of yoga, start with these 5 basic poses.
1. Mountain Pose (Tadasana)
Foundation of all standing poses. Stand straight, relax shoulders, focus on breath.
2. Downward Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana)
Stretches the whole body. Press hands and feet to ground, lift hips up.
3. Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I)
Strengthens legs, improves balance. One leg forward, other back, arms up.
4. Tree Pose (Vrksasana)
Develops balance and concentration. Stand on one foot, place other foot on calf or thigh.
5. Child Pose (Balasana)
Resting pose. Sit on knees, put forehead on ground, extend arms forward.
